The Power of Vision
As we enter into a new year, it is important to remember the importance of having a clear and purposeful vision for our lives. Vision is not just about seeing where you are today, but it is also about imagining where you want to be tomorrow. Actively creating the foundation for your life helps you reflect on your dreams, goals and aspirations, then taking that further step to making the vision a reality.
In this season, we challenge our Kings to focus on their vision – for themselves, their futures and their communities.
Building A Vision for Yourself
Your vision starts with you! You have to take time to reflect on who you are, what your likes and dislikes are, and who you want to become. Tools like vision boards, journaling or goal setting can help you lay out your vision and define the strategies you need to get there.
What do you want to accomplish?
Where do you see yourself in the next 5 years? 10 years?
Who do you want to be a part of your journey?
Questions like these can help you create a roadmap for your life and help you identify who can help you get there. Whether it is about excelling in school, starting a business or becoming a mentor, your personal vision is the foundation for the future you want to build for yourself.
A Vision for Your Community
At Forever Kings, we have talked a lot about Leadership and how it extends beyond just yourself. Leadership includes the impact you have on the people around you. As you are considering your vision, think about how it will affect your community.
What changes do you want to see in your neighborhood, schools or city?
What actions can you take to create a positive change that you would like to see?
What efforts will you put in place to, to inspire the people that come after you?
Understand that your vision has the ability to change not only your life, but the lives of others within your community. Whether you are looking to mentor, provide a service or advocate for a cause, your vision can leave a legacy of empowerment and transformation on the generations to come.
Your vision is your power. What will you plan to do with it?
