Becoming a mentor at Forever Kings is signing up to become the single most important role of our organization. Our work and impact can't be complete without our mentors. Mentors partner with our organization to be the "hands and feet" that directly impact our members.
In a nutshell we seek mentors that can be fully committed and dedicated to the impact!
We are a site based mentoring organization that follows a group model. This means that we split our members up into homogeneous groups (Cohorts) that allow for our curriculum and topics to addressed in a developmentally appropriate way. As a mentor with Forever Kings you will lead a group of young men with 2-3 other men.
Elementary (4th - 6th Grade)
2nd & 4th Tuesdays
Jr. High (7th - 9th Grade)
2nd & 4th Thursdays
Sr. High (10th - 12th Grades)
1st & 3rd Thursdays
Mentors are only assigned to one group. So you can choose your age group preference.
There is a small fee associated with being a mentor with Forever Kings.
If you have previously served as a mentor with another organization you know that it can be pricey paying for the activities for you and your mentee. We will NEVER ask you to sponsor any activities, or cover an cost for your mentee outside of this fee. We provide all supplies, and materials for our sessions.
This can be paid in full or via a payment plan.
You may pay your mentor fee in monthly installments of $25. We do ask that this is paid by the 15th of every month.
All mentor applicants follow a screening process to ensure we have the best possible candidates for our members. The screening process also allows for us to eliminate the risk for abuse to take place. The Chief Impact Officer will take you through the screening process.
We require that all persons who have direct contact with our members and our families to have a FBI/BCI background check on file.
We do ask that our mentors cover this cost.
If a mentor has had a FBI/BCI background check completed within the last 90 days we will accept that.
